Abstract
External vacuum therapy has been a well known treatment modality for erectile dysfunction since 1982. The scientific principle of negative pressure was discovered by Pascal in the 17th century. In 1982 Osbon received the first permission by the Food and Drug Administration to distribute and market this device for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
