Kluver-Bucy and Frontal Syndromes Following Meningoencephalitis in a Young Boy: Pathophysiological and Clinical Considerations

Abstract

We describe the clinical picture and one-year follow-up in a 55-month-old boy who developed a constellation of behavioral/emotional symptoms with sudden onset following meningoencephalitis. He was given the diagnosis of Kluver-Bucy and frontal syndrome. His behavioral symptoms responded to the combination of methylphenidate and risperidone better than either medication alone.
