A survey of lice infestation on cattle brought to an abattoir in Istanbul

Abstract

This survey was carried out to determine the lice species and their infestation rates on cattle brought to Kucukcekmece abattoior in Istanbul. For this purpose, a total of 1752 cattle were examined during the period from 01 April 1990 to 31 March 1991. Most (1664 heads) of the animals were from Thracia (the European part of Turkey) and some (88 heads) of them from Ramania.
