Impact of Knowledge Management on Innovation
Abstract
Effective knowledge management and innovative outcomes are both the strongest sources of competencies and competitiveness for organizations. Knowledge management plays the role of capturing organizations' collective expertise, and it plays an important role in enhancing innovation involvement of organizational members. This study examines the relationship between effective knowledge management processes and organizational innovation performance. Furthermore, it tries to set a model figuring out the mediating effects of organizational innovativeness between knowledge management processes and innovation performance. The major research method followed in this study is a comprehensive literature review, supplemented by analysis of data which was collected through surveys. The results of the research show that knowledge management processes are positively related to innovation performance. Additionally, the results provide evidence that innovativeness plays a mediating role between knowledge management and innovation performance.
