Objective: To compare the results of the Medical Outcomes Study Short Form-36 (SF-36) health status measure with its spinal cord injury (SCI)-modified version in the assessment of health status among SCI survivors living in the community. Design: Survey design with analysis of cross-sectional data. Setting: University Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. Participants: Forty-one people with SCI living in the community and 31 healthy age-matched and sex-matched volunteer subjects. Intervention: Not applicable.
