Abstract

It is difficult to place the intellectuals and statesmen who lived in the late period of the Ottoman Empire in a certain compartment as a result of their life experience. However, this type of intellectual has carried on his effort insistently to solve the problems of the society in which he lived and to transmiss the thought and science of the West to it by using the contemporary data and possibilities.
