APPLICATION OF PLATELET RICH BIOMAATERIALS IN ORAL IMPLANTOLOGY

Abstract

Many studies of growth factors and their effects on wound healing have been conducted in recent years. Platelets isolated from peripheral blood are the primary source of growth factors. Thus plutelet rich biomaterials me widely used in different clinical situations. Different techniques are used for the preparation of this king of biomaterials. Biomaterials prepared with these techniques are generally referred to as platelet rich plasma (PRP), Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is second generation platelet concentrate. The aim of this article is to discuss the preparation techniques, clinical applications and benefits of platelet rich biomaterials with case reports.
