Abstract
Devoid of the chance of finding the "different one," within almost infinite consumption choices, unable to reach the news/facts -and not feeling the lack of it either- under the vision and information bombardment and capable of displaying individual differences only with consumption practices, the global man leads a life imposed by the capitalist production processes. In the same way, global man is usually unaware of the fact that his or her own life, the choices as well as cultural practices and therefore his or her own reality of life are just produced realities. French philosopher, Jean Baudrillard explains this social situation with the simulation theory and indicates that global man lives in a universe of simulations. In this paper, the simulation theory and the dilemmas of global/local man are examined.
