How Will The Crisis Affect Macroeconomic Variables And 2009 National Budget Figures?
Abstract
After experiencing an extensive economic crisis during early 2000s, Turkish economy has achieved a stable environment by pursuing tight monetary and fiscal policies in the post-crisis term. One of the most important factors that helped Turkey economy to grow and stabilise during the period is obviously the enormous financial expansion that was created in international markets. However, recent global financial crisis and recession will probably affect Turkish economy significantly as well as many other developed and developing economies. Nowadays; as to the new expectations, what will be the new fiscal agenda and budgetary figures for 2009 have become important points. Global financial crisis that is being experienced recently and expectations for 2009 have been evaluated in this study in respect of the budgetary figures.
