Abstract
Increased lifespan, aging populatin and desiring beter quality of life has increased the importance of incontinence care. Ensuring care to individuals with incontinence and maintaining continence are reguired a multidisciplinary team. Nurses are the essential members of the team with their constantly developing roles. Continence nurses in a key position, have some roles and responsibilities that they have to perform. They are making research, clinician / practitioner, counseling, health protection / development, training, decision making, care management, manager, co-ordination and communication. Indeed, developing standards / protocols about nursing roles, training programs, and making legal arrangements are needed. Thus, level of the nursing expertise will increase and continence care at the international level will be achieved.
