Abstract
This article presents the results of oxidation experiments done with H2O2/UV and Fe2+/H2O2 The oxidation was carried out using a UV/H2O2 and Fenton's reagent in low pH (2-3) with different ratios of Fe2+/H2O2 An 11 W low-pressure mercury lamp was used as UV source. Two chlorinated compounds, namely monolinuron and linuron, are used as herbicides. Analyses of these compounds were followed by means of a Gas Chromatography equipped with an Electron Capture Detector ECD Fenton's reagent is effective for these herbicides and also reagent itself did not degrade, bur when H2O2 and Fe2+ were used separately they did not produce any oxidation, since they do not produce OH radicals.
