dc.description.abstractSpatial planning has been carried out in Turkey since the 1950s. However, planning is still facing major challenges. This is due to the problems related with life, worsening environment, natural and cultural values, and settlement areas, many of which are at risk by natural disasters. Spatial planning needs to be developed especially in consideration of environmental factors.
