dc.description.abstract | Objective: Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) is an atherosclerotic and prothrombotic process leading cause of mortality. Atherosclerosis is recognized as a chronic inflammatory disease and starts as a protective response in damage to the endothelium and smooth muscle cells of the wall of the artery. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of interleukin-6 (-174 G/C) polymorphism with pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines such as Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Interleukin-8 (IL-8), and Interleukin-1 Receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra) in PVD. | |
