In this study, it is considered Abdulbaki Golpınarlı’s (d. 1982) works, who was educated in Istanbul in the last period of the Ottoman Empire and came to the forefront in the intellectual history of the Republican period with his lectures at the academy and his studies and translations in the fields of Mevlana, Mesnevi and Melamiism, and that has not been identified and published before a hadith translation will be re-written to modern letters. Golpınarlı, a collection of forty hadiths named Sharh-i Hadis-i Arbain, attributed to Hamiduddin Aksaray (d. 815/1412), known as Somuncu Baba, and its commentary İrshad al-Yakîn fi Tarcamati “Sharh-i Hadis-i Arbain” in Arabic. It was translated from Arabic to Turkish. The work, which is attributed to a sufi scholar who lived in the very early periods of the Ottoman Empire, was translated by a sufi-disciplined history researcher who grew up in the last period of the Ottoman Empire. In this translation, it will be possible to see a summary of the Sufi thought in the Ottoman period. Golpınarlı wrote his translation only in old letters in the early periods of the Republic after the alphabet reform. Golpınarlı, who translated a thousand and one hadiths after this translation, also expressed some of his thoughts on hadith translation in this compilation. This work will also be briefly evaluated in the article in terms of Golpınarlı's approach to hadiths and the hadiths he chose. Since Golpınarlı's translation is in the center of the article, Golpınarlı's life will also be briefly disclosed.
