Turkish folk music studies in the light of historical development

Abstract

In this study, the last two periods of transition period and republic period (A. 1923-1975 foundation of the first Turkish music conservatory B. Since 1975) of Turkish folk music culture classification, which is formed in a historical going development, is taken in a foremost plan. By foundation of Mizaka-i Humayun which was a serious step altering the direction of Music in Anatolia; researches, studies, direct and indirect facts, events and institutions interested in especially taking the first part of Republic period are taken in dating way and main lines. The second half of the Republic period, we started from 1975, the date when the first Turkish Music Conservatory was founded, up to now, is generally evaluated. In the first part of our study, the passing period and pre-republic period were generally analyzed and some preparations were made. In the conclusion part, what is to be made in the recent point was examined.
