dc.description.abstractThe waste water treatment facility of a plant met all discharge requirement other than those for the NH3-N parameter. The application of some bacterial cultures was used to produce a highly sturdy nitrifier biomass to fulfill the:required items without inhibition despite being under negative conditions. After application the NH3-N concentration could be drastically decreased. One additional benefit was the improvement in chemical oxygen demand (COD) values.
