CONSERVATION OF A GROUP OF HIGHLY DEGRADED WATERLOGGED WOOD FROM YK 3 SHIPWRECK

Abstract

In this study, conservation work was carried out on highly degraded waterlogged woods from YK 3 shipwreck, with U-max values ranging between 1000 and 1300 and densities were between 0,08 and 0,5 g/cm(3). The conservation of the highly degraded frames from the YK 3 shipwreck was carried out with Kauramin treatment. For the completion of the other conservation work on the other waterlogged woods with similar degrees of degradation, a case study was carried out using the highly degraded frames from the YK 3 shipwreck; and assessments were made based on this case study.
