Simultaneous heart and kidney transplantation

Abstract

Simultaneous heart and kidney transplantation is a valid therapeutic option for the patients with end-stage heart and kidney disease; however, the long-term outcomes of the therapy are unknown. According to the current literature data, simultaneous heart and kidney transplantation provides outcomes similar to those for isolated heart or kidney transplantation. In this report, the early results of simultaneous heart and kidney transplantation from the same donor, which was the second successful case in Turkey, were presented.
