Kaledo Game Experiences in Turkey and Comparison With Behavioral Group Tretment for Childhood Obesity Management
Özet
Background: The objective of this systematic review is to examine current approaches used for the management of childhood and adolescence obesity in Turkey. Methods: Ovid Medline, Google Scholar and the Turkish Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM) databases were searched for childhood obesity management studies covering three inclusion criteria: intervention for obesity, having participants between 2-18 ages and implemented in Turkey. Results: A total of nine studies were reviewed. All studies reported significant changes in anthropometric measures and five of them reported significant improvements in nutritional knowledge and metabolic parameters. Conclusion: Although the number of the studies were low and the study designs varied, there is evidence that interventions have positive results in childhood and adolescence obesity management. Future studies should be improved methodologically and should explore important features for different target groups.
