Diwan of Begzade Nuri of Prishtina and Cypher-writings in His Diwan

Abstract

Begzade Nuri of Prishtina is one of the diwan poets in XVIIIth century. Nuri of Prishtina, who is hail from Prishtina but probably lives in Istanbul for a long time of his life, posseses clear and natural literary style. Though not much information is found about him, he has a medium-sized Diwan, whose two copies are in Millet Kutuphanesi and Istanbul Universitesi Nadir Eserler Kutuphanesi. The Diwan is important for including either poems or cypher-writings which can be seen in the chapter of lugaz and the last folio of Diwan. In this article, it will be given information about Nuri of Prishtina's life in light of his Diwan and cypher-writings in the Diwan will be solved.
