Anchoring free flap to the bone in facial contour restoration

Abstract

Developmental problems such as hemifacial atrophy, microsomia or acquired deformities due to resection from tumors, radiation theraphy can cause facial contour disorders. Although fat grafts, injection of silicone, collagen and suctioned fat gained popularity for some time for reconstructive purposes, microsurgical reconstruction for facial asymmetry and restoration of contour has become the "gold standard".
