Management system of protected areas for sustainable use of natural resources
Özet
Sustainable use of natural resources, benefitting from the resources with the balance of exploitation-conservation, transmitting resources to the future generations as an inheritance are all directly related to management systems. It is a general view that the management system can bring positive results, if it provides the exploitation-conservation balance of resources, intensive participation of residents and local politicians in the management. Standardising the management systems of protected areas is difficult. Actually, it is not necessary because the biological, geological or cultural features of every protected area are unique. For this reason, every unit must form its own management system, by comitting some international, national and/or regional rules. In the concept of this study, various protected areas that have different exploitation-categories are compared to each other by their management systems. The ideal management system and its essential features are constituted by acquired data. Participation of residents and local politicians in the management, obtaining profit from the resource management for people who live near or inside the protected area are the most important management targets. Especially, making economic profit from the management helps the inhabitants get adopted to the area. So they can get responsibility easily. On the other hand, education is a must for reaching the targets. By education, residents will learn more about the system and can control the applications. Education helps improving the autocontrol mechanism. These are the necessities which facilitate the feasibilties and success of the management.
