THE PRICE REDUCTION RIGHT UNDER THE TURKISH CODE OF OBLIGATIONS DUE TO DEFECTIVE GOOD

Abstract

This study deals with the issue of buyer's right to resort to Art. 227 of the Turkish Code of Obligations no. 6098 that govern the principle of price reduction among other remedies in case of a contractual breach. The purpose of this study is to elaborate on the nature, scope and outcome of price reduction in the light of Supreme Court's decisions. For the sake of a better understandig of the matter at hand, a comparison is introduced between current and former regulations of the Turkish Law.
