Abstract

In this study, convergence levels in telecommunication sector and their effects on information management are examined. This study examines the effects of convergence levels in telecommunication sector on the levels of information management life cycle through Geographical Information Systems which integrates convergence and information management concepts. The effects of fixed - mobile convergence on information management processes are examined. The effects of convergence in information technologies and devices on information management processes are investigated. Quick access to the information, information security, rapid storage of information, the impact on information processes are analyzed. As a result, the convergence technologies in the telecommunications sector are interpreted as positive contributions to the efficiency and profitability of the company through the application of information management processes.
