The effect of ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation on some electrolytes in rats
Özet
In our research, the effect of UVB radiation on the amounts of Ca++, inorganic P(Pi), K+, Na+, Mg++, Cl- in serums of 22 week-old Wistar-Albino rats was investigated. UVB radiation was applied to trial group animals at dosages used for treatment (4 J/cm(2)) for a period of 4 weeks. The blood samples were taken before the ray application as the control group. At the end of one month there was no change in the amounts of Pi, K+, Mg++ but the level of serum -Ca++ increased significantly (P<0.01) in male and female rats in comparison with the control group. It was also detected that the level of serum -Na+ increased in male rat (P<0.01) but the amount of serum -Cl- decreased in female rats (P<0.01) in comparison with the control group.
